2024 Bridal Makeup Trends
This year has already brought much change to the wedding world, and it’s not stopping at makeup! As a bride-to-be, or anyone in the bridal party, picking your makeup look for the big day is such an important step. As a bride, you want to feel your best on your wedding day, and your makeup choice will play a huge role in this! To help you out, here’s the run down of what’s in this year:
Soft, natural glam is a go-to for weddings this year! Brides are striving to look more like their natural selves on their wedding day, so a glowing, sheer base is becoming increasingly popular. This one is especially popular for destination weddings taking place is sunny locations, or summer weddings here in the UK. Makeup artists have even steered away from strip lashes, and some are using individual or cluster lashes to give a more natural effect, or skipping the foundation and swapping to a skin tint instead.
Another trend we have noticed for this year is monochromatic makeup. Stemming from beauty trends such as “latte makeup” or “strawberry makeup”, it’s been very common for brides to wear warm tones throughout their makeup. Matching the eyes, to the cheeks, to the lips to create a seamless and cohesive look is definitely in. Even celebrities such as Hailey Beiber or the Kardashians have been spotted rocking this look. Top tip: if you’re doing your own makeup for your wedding, you can use the same product for multiple steps to create the perfect monochromatic look, for example, use your blush as an eyeshadow!
Blush is a huge feature in all bridal makeup in 2024, especially pink tones. The beauty world as a whole has really been loving blush this year, and this trend has cropped up in bridal makeup a lot! Glowing pink cheeks is a must for your big day, no matter on your look. Cool toned, baby pink cheeks have been super popular in the beauty industry, and even on celebrities this year.
Next, a bold lip is another big trend for 2024 weddings. From ombré lips to a classic red, brides have been loving a bolder lip this year. Red lips will definitely be a popular one for this year, as we are seeing a lot more red on brides in 2024 ; from lips, to nails, to shoes! Daring to be a little bolder with your makeup look may just pay off, and using a colour as vibrant as a red can create an elegant and timeless look.
On the contrary to soft glam, a full glam look is also in this year! In 2024 we have witnessed the return of “2016 makeup”, which is a very full on look. In the world of weddings, this can translate to full coverage skin, bold brows, smokey eyes and full lashes. If you usually like to wear a lot of makeup, then a full glam could be for you on your big day.
